Meet the Furballs

Meet the boys........... Buddy & Cooper

Buddy is either a ChiWeenie or a TerWeenie rescue from Amador County Animal Control.  He is an awesome little dog who is an absolute sweetie snugglebug, but is also quite emotional.  He gets his feelings hurt easily and is afraid of all loud noises.  The most heartbreaking thing is how frightened he is if we pick up a flyswatter, wooden spoon, back-scratcher or anything that resembles those things.  He runs for cover and shakes.  We have no idea what happened in his first 10 months of life.  He was found wandering around Jackson, CA and taken to Animal Control.  We saw him at the feed store with the wonderful ladies from the Humane Society.  There was no way I was going to leave him there.  He has been with us since December 2009 and is such a joy.  He is quite the little traveler.  He loves to travel and we love to travel so he is the perfect portable four-legged family member.

Cooper was adopted from Calaveras County Animal Control when he was about 10 weeks old.  He is supposedly a purebred Miniature Pinscher who was surrendered along with his mother and litter mates.  We wanted another dog , a companion for Buddy.  Their companionship has been "testy" at times due to the playfulness of Cooper's puppiness and his size.  He was only supposed to be 10-12 inches tall and 12 lbs but is about 18 inches and 27 lbs.  Buddy can stand under him...and when he does Cooper just lays on him.  Cooper hates to travel and hates the truck.  He gets sick every single time he's in it.  We are still working on ways to keep him from throwing up.  We can't imagine leaving him behind when we take our day or weekend trips.   He was quite the chewer as a puppy.  We don't have a lamp in the house with a cord.  He is very UN-min pin.  He has the personality of a lab, very laid back and unaffected by anything.......until my husband leaves.  Then he panics, whines at the top of his lungs and paces through the house.

We enjoy the boys very much.  They have been a source entertainment and love.  But, sometimes we don't have a free lap for hours.

Brian can't get any lap time alone.
Neither can I.....but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Buddy gives Cooper the stink eye.  He sure wasn't happy we brought home another dog.

They get along much better now that they are older.

They really enjoy country life
In September 2016, we introduced the boys to their little sister, HARLOW.  She was rescued from Calaveras County Animal Services.  She was filthy and smelled so incredibly bad.  We had to live with the stink for 5 days until her stitches came out and we could bathe her.

She immediately fit into the family.

I was hoping for a pretty pretty princess dog.

But what I got was a tomboy who was more of a boy dog than Buddy or Cooper.
We quickly realized she LOVES to dig holes.

and JUMP!

and DIG!

and play in the WATER.

When she is groomed and clean she is ADORABLE!

SHE FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE FAMILY.
